Mu Health Check
Introduction
Through its partnership with Mu Dynamics (vendor of the award winning Mu Test Suite), leading professional services providers offer the two-day ‘Health Check’ service to help existing Mu Dynamics customers ensure that they are obtaining maximum value from their Mu Test Suite. The two-day workshop ensures that those utilizing the Mu solution are fully familiar with basic use cases, and covers advanced features of the Mu Test Suite, such as custom service monitors, custom Denial of Service module packet creation, and remote management of the Mu via its remote automation interface.
Health Check engagements are ideally conducted after six months of initial device usage, license renewal, or the purchase of a new feature. This enables customers to have a period of initial use (ideally six months after the delivery of an initial Kickstart professional services engagement), during which time customers will have had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the core functionality of the Mu Test Suite, and identify its applicability in the context of their business and operating environment. The following three phases describe the high-level outline of Health Check engagements.
Phase One: Mu Test Suite Usage Review
During the initial phase, the assigned consultant will review previous usage of the Mu Test Suite. This review will include discussion around past successes and challenges, analysis of executed analysis and associated configurations. Additionally, the consultant will discuss the way in which the Mu is being leveraged from the perspective of the organization’s product or service development business process.
Phase Two: Use Case Analysis Optimization
The second phase of all Health Check engagements focuses on optimizing customer’s use of the Mu Test Suite, in the context of their own business environment. This phase is designed to ensure that customers are maximizing usage and effectiveness of their Mu solution, therefore attaining the maximum return on investment. While activities during this phase may vary based on needs, the following will typically be covered:
- Network Device Attack Surface Coverage Analysis
- Protocol Optimization & Configuration Issues
- Advanced Features (IP Address Pooling; Destination NAT; etc.)
- Advanced Service Health Monitoring
- Debugger Automation & Advanced Automated Data Gathering
- Analysis Automation / Use of Mu Test Suite's Remote Automation Interface
Finally, the assigned consultant will walk the customer through a test-run of an optimized analysis, which will be reviewed during phase three.
Phase Three: Results Analysis
Once the use case analysis phase is complete, a Mu Dynamics-certified consultant will assist the customer in qualifying and interpreting the results from the optimized analysis. Depending on the available time and on the scope of the analysis scenario, the onsite consultant may help the customer with the following:
- Results Interpretation and Prioritization Guidance
- Root Cause / Debugger Results Analysis
