Use Cases: Network Operators
MSOs and Service Providers
Leading North American network operators own a customer requirement of delivering maximum network uptime, avoiding customer churn or interruption of any next generation IP Service or triple-play application. Mu network operator customers have previously been required to pay costly service level agreement (SLA) credits to their customers due to poor product robustness causing service downtime or product security weaknesses. Many of these service availability issues and security attack surface coverage weaknesses have been traced back to improperly secured or non-interoperable IP-enabled product vendors.
Up until now, service providers did not have effective methodologies to find a significant percentage of vulnerabilities in the attack surface of their services before deployment. Service Providers now turn to Mu to proactively measure the robustness of any IP-connected application or product that impacts network service availability or security readiness. Every production network is unique and product vendor suppliers are simply unable to account for every unique system or application setting exposing attack surface coverage weaknesses. While defense in depth or perimeter security products are helpful, successful attacks exploiting new vulnerabilities on a daily basis prove layered security as only one step of the total required solution.
