Testing Cloud and Web Services

One of the main concerns of enterprises and end users utilizing cloud and web services is about security and privacy. Product vendors and services providers in this space need to pay special attention to these aspects of their test processes. There are three aspects to effectively testing for security.
-
The test process adopted needs to be dynamic to effectively test against the latest known attacks and weaknesses of software systems. This test input needs to cover the latest known attacks on a regular basis.
- In addition, the process needs to incorporate a proactive aspect that tests for unknown issues. Weaknesses of the service being deployed need to be identified proactively before deployment. Moreover, once a weakness has been found there needs to be a systematic approach that classifies the weakness into categories and other similar weaknesses belonging to the same category need to be found and fixed.
- Lastly, as service providers and product vendors discover vulnerabilities in their service they need to quickly reproduce those in the test lab and roll out a fix without side effects.
The Adaptive approach pioneered by the Mu test Suite enables testers to solve the three scenarios described accurately, thoroughly and quickly.
