joins Mu from Sun Microsystems where he served as Director for US Software
Sales. He comes to Mu at the end of a
year when the company has expanded its capabilities and footprint within leading
network operators, government agencies and their varied product vendor
suppliers. Based on 2008 product
advancements for the more than 100 unique
customer installations, SC Magazine announced Mu has won its 2008 ‘Innovators
Award’ for the second year running based upon superior customer focus,
product innovation and attention to quality.
“Mu’s customers take immense pride
in being able to apply a rigorous and effective process to the quality and
reliability of their respective services and product development efforts,” said
Dave Kresse, CEO Mu Dynamics. “I am very excited to welcome Gary on board to continue

Mu's 2008
Customer Footprint Expands
Tapping that customer focus during
2008, Mu added more than three dozen new customer implementations during the
year in addition to growing business at dozens of existing customers. Of primary interest among these customers
were VoIP ‘stress testing’ and IPTV &
IMS reliability testing. xChange
editors detailed GMI IPTV and IMS testing using Mu at Verizon and there are
documented on going efforts to improve product quality through the use of the
Mu solution at network infrastructure leaders including Juniper Networks, Fortinet,
F5
and Starent
Networks. IPv6 deployment and
readiness testing using Mu at varied government agencies and commercial
operators also grew throughout the year.
Covering VoIP and IPv6 testing, Telecommunications Magazine recently held a webinar hosted by Verizon, Qwest and Mu detailing the reliability and security requirements for the 21st
Century Telecommunication Operators.
Similarly, the lead information assurance analyst for the US Navy, Mike
Davis, Information Assurance/Security Technical Authority for the US Navy's
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), delivered
a seminar for Defense Systems and Mu discussing the need for reliability
metrics throughout the product deployment lifecycle.
SC Magazine Innovator’s Award
The December
2008 issue of SC Magazine recognizes Mu with ‘Industry Innovator’
honors. “Mu’s product began as a way to
test critical components of large networks,” said Dr. Peter Stephenson, SC
Magazine contributing editor and Associate Program Director in the Master of
Science in Information Assurance program and Research Professor at the National
Center for the Study of Counter-Terrorism and Cyber Crime, both at Norwich
University. “Today the Mu tests those
components, but it also looks at a bigger network picture as well. And for Mu, innovation does not stop there. This company hardly makes a move without
socializing through a base of
customers and, perhaps not-yet-customers.”
Dr. Stephenson calls out Mu’s
greatest strength as: “Superior creativity and
unbridled customer communication.”
