Mu Security Named as Finalist for Two 2007 American Business AwardsSM
5th Annual Stevie® Awards Presented June 11 in New York City
Sunnyvale, Calif. - May 15, 2007 - Mu Security, the leader in the security analyzer
market, today announced it has been named a finalist in both the "Best New Company
Under 100 Employees" and "Best New Product or Service - Computer Hardware or
Services" categories in The 2007 American Business Awards.
More than 2,000 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were
submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Best Overall Company,
Best Executive, Best New Product or Service, and Best Corporate Social Responsibility
Program.
Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Monday, June 11 at
the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 700 executives from across the
U.S.A. are expected to attend. The ceremonies will be videocast on the Internet and
broadcast on radio, and hosted by Larry Wilmore of Comedy Central's THE DAILY
SHOW with JON STEWART.
Mu Security created the new security analyzer market in early 2006, with the
Mu-4000 Security Analyzer,
to help service providers, critical infrastructure, government agencies,
network equipment manufacturers and enterprises detect security and robustness flaws
before hackers do. This "hacker in a box" platform locates and documents potential areas
of product or service weakness that are exploitable across their respective "attack
surface." Increasingly complex triple-play communication products vastly expand the
product attack surface often beyond the inherent knowledge of either the vendor's
development team or the user deploying the technology. Mu Security solves this problem
by automating the security and robustness analysis process for dozens of protocols,
published vulnerabilities since 2004 and by integrating with existing third party scripts.
"Based on customer adoption of Mu Security and its products, we are honored to be
selected as a finalist for a Stevie award in not just one, but two categories," said Adam
Stein, vice president marketing at Mu Security. "Third-party awards validate the fact that
Mu Security's security analysis solution
is helping service providers, cable operators and
their IP-based product vendors lead the way in building security-aware business
processes. This is why companies like Network Appliance, Juniper Networks and
Motorola selected the Mu-4000 Security Analyzer to improve service availability by
ensuring all new and existing IP-based systems are secure, robust and at reduced risk
from hacker attacks."
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will
select Stevie Award winners this week from among finalists. Finalists were chosen by
business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April through early
May. Nicknamed the Stevie for the Greek word "crowned," the elegant Stevie trophy
was designed by the same company that makes the Oscar and the Emmy.
"Being named a Finalist in The American Business Awards is an important
achievement," said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards. "It
means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of
national recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish
them well in the competition."
