MU DYNAMICS TO PRESENT, DEMONSTRATE VOIP RELIABILITY, DOS ANALYSIS AT NXTCOMM08

Thomas Maufer to Present on SIP Reliability, Availability and IMS Forum Findings

Sunnyvale, Calif. - June 10, 2008 - Mu Dynamics, a pioneer in helping network operators and their vendors eliminate downtime through proactive service assurance, will demo its breakthrough Denial of Service (DoS) Module for the Mu-4000 appliance next week at NXTcomm08, June 16-19, in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center Booth SU9007. Mu also announced that Director of Technical Marketing Thomas Maufer will present on SIP reliability, availability and security findings, including DoS shortcomings in VoIP and IMS implementations, based on IMS Forum activities.

The Mu-4000 Service Analyzer with its DoS Module, which broke new ground when announced on May 19, ensures service providers proactively identify and eliminate service, application and network downtime caused by DoS and DDoS attacks. It allows characterization of the effects on a service when stateless traffic is sent at specific rates. Whereas mutation analysis is about exercising individual service interfaces using a wide range of stateful variations in protocols, DoS analysis probes service transaction limits in processing large amounts of stateless traffic.
