One of our certified customers … they had an issue with one of the routers not doing the right thing. And it took a good week for them to figure out what was going on. People spend a lot of time custom writing tools to search through the packets.”

As a company that tests pretty much everything under the sun that
has an IP stack, Mu Dynamics deals with pcaps for all kinds of
protocols. According to a posting on Mu's corporate blog, "these pcaps
were being littered around in public shares, wiki attachments, e-mails,
internal mailing lists and blogs." This, in turn, inspired the site's
creation.

How We Tested NEC's Unified Communications Platform
For this round of testing, the NEC Unified Communications platform was configured to provide a UC solution for a typical single-office environment enterprise installation. Security scans including open port scans, protocol interaction with mutated traffic [protocol fuzzing], common vulnerability exploit (CVE) tests, denial of service (DoS) and SIP torture tests were conducted using Miercom's test methodologies combined with the Mu Dynamics Test Suite.

IMS Adoption vs. NGN Application Growth: Where's the Revenue?
Operators have proven they can design such a network, but can it built to the scale of existing GSM networks and offer the reliability and availability that users have come to expect from their mobile devices? The right questions to ask now are more about ensuring robustness of the exploding IP application intelligence at the network edge rather than asking about whether such an architecture is feasible.
