ABB’s AC 800M Controller Achieves Mu Security Industrial Control Certification
- Customer Quote
“ABB puts a premium on its products delivering the leading
reliability, availability and security baseline in our customers’ networks. To proactively build products that withstand all levels of
real-world
traffic, we must test both prior to shipment, and during deployment. ABB’s use of the Mu-4000 Service Analyzer throughout
our software development lifecycle helps us model real world traffic, understand
service response time weaknesses and adverse side-effects. It answers questions such as “if a system is
being overloaded by one type of service-level traffic, what is the effect on
other unexpected traffic to that system’s processes?”
-- Kevin McGrath, Scientist, ABB
"ABB puts a premium on designing and maintaining our customer’s safety and run-time efficient operations by striving to build the most secure and robust industrial controllers."
-- Kai Hansen, senior principal scientist at ABB Corporate Research.
"Control system security is a critical concern to our customers, and a key element of today’s control system strategies. Use of the Mu-4000 appliance throughout our internal development process paired with MUSIC certification’s evolution to the ISA Secure certification will help further ensure ABB customers that our control systems will meet or exceed very stringent security and robustness criteria."
-- Alicia DuBay, director of systems marketing, ABB Inc.

Network World Clear Choice Test (Cover Story): Juniper switch DoS Capabilities Analyzed by Mu, Proves to be credible choice
To assess storm control, Network World used many unexpected DoS attack
derivatives of common broadcast and TCP SYN flooding via the Mu-4000
analyzer's DoS module. Network World configured the Juniper switch
to limit forwarding rates of attack traffic, and verified these limits
using real-time rate counters using conventional load testing gear.
