Mu’s Fourth Patent Provides Customers With the Ability to Quickly and Effectively Test in Heterogeneous Network Environments

SUNNYVALE, California — August 2, 2011 — Mu Dynamics, Inc. (www.mudynamics.com), the leader in testing and validating application-aware networks, today announced that it has been awarded its fourth patent. This patent, number 7,958,230, entitled “Test Driven Deployment and Monitoring of Heterogeneous Network Systems”, grants Mu the intellectual property (IP) behind the continuous integration process that enables its customers to rapidly and effectively test in heterogeneous environments. This process is critical for testing any complex network environment.

The new patent provides the ability to model an environment with multiple devices and protocols that are typical in complex networks. Mu’s solution then dynamically generates unit tests based on objects, methods and communications identified by the protocols. The test system transmits the unit test cases to the component systems, receives test results, and validates them to ensure that the network system functions properly. This higher level of abstraction reduces the complexity of developing and maintaining complex test environments, adding a layer of efficiency and time-savings that was previously unavailable. Since these environments are expensive and difficult to maintain, this approach saves customers time and money while still allowing test environments to reflect the needed complexity.
